About Graham Colley
-
- He qualified as a solicitor in 1978, worked in the Legal
Department of a Lloyds Insurance Broking Group and then became a partner a firm of City
solicitors. In 1984 he established his own solicitors practice with his wife Rose.

- With his many years experience Graham Colley has dealt
with a wide range of Legal problems. He has a particular reputation as a problem
solver - finding new solutions to difficult problems - and as a negotiator with a
keen eye to the tactics of any problem. Unlike some lawyers he views litigation as a means
to an end rather than an end in itself.

- He is particularly aware of the cost of Legal Services and
believes costs should always be kept at the forefront of any action
-
- Graham was until 1997 a Kent County Councillor and was
Co-Chair of the Fire Authority in Kent. He stood for Parliament in the 1987 and 1992
General elections.

- He was the Convenor of the Law Societys Solicitors
European Group, Kent branch and is a visitor to Brussels where the firm has
connections. Graham is also the UK representative of the Italian legal network, Legalex.

- Graham Colley was educated at Nottingham High School, the
University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and the College of Europe, Bruges. He has also studied
Italian at the Dante Alighieri Institute in Florence. From 1996 he studied for the
part-time Evening MBA at City University, which led to the Masters degree in Business
Administration in 1998. He is currently considering furthering his academic studies by
taking a doctorate. He has gained the Financial Planning Certificate

- He developed an interest in Mediation as an alternative
method of dispute resolution in early 1990s. He has undertaking a variety of
mediations including commercial, private and matrimonial. He also assists a neighbourhood
mediation service in London ( Southwark Mediation Project ) as its Secretary and has advised another such service in Kent.

- Graham Colley is also qualified Independent
Financial Adviser, which he practices in a
(non-solicitor)
firm GTM Financial.

- Graham's
wife, Rose, is a Jersey Advocate and is a partner specialising in partnership law in the
Channel Islands. They have three children, Eleanor, (22 years), Gareth, (17
years) and Trystan (14 years).
